就讀學校: 美國Felician College

Life is like a box of chocolate, you never know what you’re gonna get,” said the movie, Forrest Gump.
My life in America is like this. So many things have happened to me since I came to America, some good, some bad.
I still remember the first day when I got here. “Oh! This is America! This is New York! Amazing!”
Even though I had been to several countries, I was still shocked by what I saw. Many things were new to me.
It is said that everyone can chase their dream in America. I was excited to get here with my dream.
I desired to learn whatever I wanted and to see whatever I could.
There have been many challenges that I have had to overcome since arriving.
First, I needed to speak English all day here.
Second, I needed to handle everything myself because my family is not here.
These experiences have been taught me many things that I cannot learn from textbooks.
NEW CHALL ENGES
When I first got here, everything was interesting to me, but suddenly I had my first problem here.
I needed to speak English all the time.
When I was in a restaurant, I needed to tell the clerk what I wanted and sometimes I just pointed with my finger.
When I saw my new classmates, I needed to speak English to them.
Everything was a challenge for me, but it was also a good chance to improve my English.
I still remember the first time I attended class. At that time, I was very shy, and I didn’t know how to speak in class.
Time went by, and now I can talk to teachers as friends.
On June 9, my teacher, Tara, took me to see how an elementary school teacher teaches Mandarin.
That was my first time joining an American elementary class.
I was very surprised that the students could learn Mandarin from joy and fun.
It was totally different from Taiwan. I like the way Americans teach in class.
BELIEVE IN YOURSELF!
I have a goal in America. I want to learn as much as I possibly can, not only about studying, but also about American culture.
After I finish my MBA program at Felician College, I will try to find a job here.
I want to learn how American companies work.
In the future, I want to create my own company, so I need to prepare myself.
Therefore, I need to learn how to negotiate with other companies and also improve my English to the level of a native speaker.
I know there are still many challenges waiting for me to overcome. If I have a strong mind and believe, I can do it.
America is an amazing country; there is a lot of treasure for you to find.
You can make friends with people from all around the world, get the latest information, see how Americans work, and learn English here.
Try to have a positive mind to face every difficulty. The more you overcome, the stronger you are.

My name is Ming-I Wang and I am 23 years old. I come from Kaoshoung, Taiwan. I came here for graduate school.
Before I came to America, my English was terrible! I didn’t study very well when I was in Taiwan.
I only knew easy conversation.
After only six months, my English has improved a lot and now I am studying in the TOEFL and Academic English class!
I am sure that every student who comes to Kaplan International will improve his or her English!
At Kaplan International, we learn grammar, speaking, writing, reading, and listening.
Every teacher is kind and loves to help students.
We also have Portfolio Hour to help students if they have specific questions or want to focus on improving a specific skill.
